WELCOME!

My name is Karl Pratt. I am private voice and piano teacher in Hoxie, Kansas. I received a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Fort Hays State University, Hays, Kansas, in 2014. I began studying piano in 4th grade (1998) and have played ever since. I have been teaching privately since 2012 and enjoy working with students of all ages.

As a teacher, my goal is to share my love of music with others, helping beginner students to learn the various techniques, theory, musicianship, interpretation and performance skills associated with vocal and/or piano performance.

Voice students will learn proper breathing technique, vowel formation and production, diction, and more through the use of vocal and breath exercises, study of appropriate repertoire, styling and staging development and eventual public/private performance. Music theory will also be incorporated into voice lessons.

Utilizing a suite of course books, piano students will learn how to read music, develop an understanding of music theory and the many terms associated therein, and practice scales, arpeggios and chords -- applying all aspects to repertoire studied.
